Zimbabwe thrash Botswana

Zimbabweâ??s womenâ??s basketball team got off to a winning start at the SADC Youth Games when they easily beat Botswana 120-36 on June 28.
With post player Alexandra Maseko in great form, Zimbabwe took control of the match from the start to take a 22-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.
By halftime Zimbabwe led 51-20 and at the end of the third quarter they had raced into a 83-28 lead.
Maseko was Zimbabweâ??s top scorer but she was ably assisted by guards Rachel Makoni and Sinikiwe Bakasa, and post player Rumbidzai Dhliwayo.
Botswana battled gamely but were literally out of their depth against their taller opponents. Botswanaâ??s best players were Orapeleng Leagajang and Malebogo Montshiwa.
In another womenâ??s match on June 28, Angola beat Lesotho 86-36.
In menâ??s matches, the defending champions Angola beat Botswana 157-50 and Lesotho beat Namibia 81-65, after leading 35-30 at halftime.
Meanwhile, both South Africaâ??s men and womenâ??s teams were disqualified from the Games after fielding overage players.
