Windhoek High School (WHS) and Dr. Lemmer will meet in Under 19 Super League final of the Metropolitan Schools Rugby Board Trophy league, which will be played on 21 August at the Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium in Windhoek.
The defending champions WHS beat Walvis Bay 36-13 to book their place in the final. In the other semi final Dr. Lemmer had a hard time against last years’ finalists Elnatan. The full time result was 16-16 and they had to have a kick out to get a winner. Dr. Lemmer beat Elnatan 3-2 to qualify for final.
WHS also featured prominently in the other categories and have six other teams, which qualified for the finals.
In the Under 19 A League, HTS beat coastal side De Duine 24-7 to qualify for the final. They will meet Otji Rugby who beat Tsumeb 18-3.
In the Under 19 B League Dr. Lemmer will fight it out with WHS 2 who managed to beat a hapless Windhoek Gymnasium 27-0. Gobabis Gimnasium will play WHS 3 in the Under 19 C league final. In the Under 19 D League Ella du Plessis beat Delta 22-0 to set up a date with WHS 4 who beat JG van der Wath 30-6.
Windhoek Gymnasium beat WHS 1 in the Under 15A League and will play the final against WHS 2 who beat Walvis Bay 34-15. In the B League, Grootfontein beat Mariental Schools in the semi finals and will play the final against Jan Mohr who won their match against Dr. Lemmer.
In the Under 14 A League, Windhoek Gymnasium, who beat Dr. Lemmer 19-5, and WHS who beat HTS 24-7 will contest the final. In the B League, Mariental beat Otji Rugby 24-0 and WHS beat Mauritz Devenish 22-17.
The first match of the day will be the Under 14 B League match between Mariental Schools and WHS at 07h30. The last match will the the Super League match between Dr. Lemmer and WHS and is scheduled to start at 18h30.
All the finals will be played at the Hage Geingob Stadium on Saturday, 21 August. Entrance is free.
