Reho Falcon are now on top of the log after they beat Kudus 43-33 on Saturday, June 10 in Rehoboth taking over from defending champions Rehoboth who had led the log for the previous two weeks.
They have lost to Kudus, Mariental, Unam and Western Suburbs so far and have 29 points with nine bonus points.
Mariental moved up to second place on the log after they beat Unam 34-17 to get their fifth win of the season. They are within striking distance of the log leaders with 28 points, eight of which are bonus points. This was after they had suffered three straight loses to Kudus, Wanderers and United. The other loss they suffered was at the hands of Rehoboth who beat them 24-17.
On third spot on the log are Wanderers who beat defending champions Rehoboth to move up from fifth place. As a result they now have 26 points. Wanderers are the only team to have won six matches out of nine. They however managed to get only two bonus points.
Rehoboth lost the lead after they lost their fourth match this season to Wanderers who had beaten them before in the first round of the league. This was the second match that they lost in a row after losing to Falcons for the second time this season in round eight.
United who had a dismal start to their season seem to have recovered after winning their last two matches. They are now on fifth spot on the log with 24 points. United beat Western Suburbs at Suburbs Park on Saturday 44-20. They also beat archrivals Wanderers 20-12.
Suburbs dropped to sixth position from fourth and are just one point behind United. They lost three other matches earlier in the season to Rehoboth, Unam and Mariental.
Kudus and Unam remain unchanged at seventh and eighth position after they both lost their matches in round nine. Kudus have 17 points while Unam have 15.
On Saturday July 17, Suburbs will travel to the coast where they will meet Kudus in a bid to move up the log standings. Kudus lost 27-17 in a round three match at Suburbs Park and will be looking to win so that they move up the log standings.
Log leaders Falcons will be looking to cement their lead on when they host United in Rehoboth. The last time the two teams met, Falcons beat United 26-22 in Olympia.
The last time Unam played Wanderers, the match was abandoned after a fight broke out that involved the players and the fans. Wanderers were leading 22-10 when it was stopped.
Rehoboth will be travelling to the south to play against Mariental. Rehoboth won the match in the first leg of the season matches.
All the matches are scheduled to start at 15h00.
