KZN Inland in charge against Namibia

Gerhard Rudolph

Namibia were in a spot of trouble at stumps on the first day of their SAA Challenge match against Kwazulu Natal Inland at the Wanderers ground, after the visitors already surpassed their total with six wickets in hand. Namibia were skittled out for 112 runs and at stumps KZN Inland had reached 155/4.

Namibia’s innings got off to a poor start as Raymond van Schoor was out for a duck, while Sarel Burger (5) and Louis Burger (2) soon followed.

Craig Williams joined Gerhard Rudolph to stabilise the innings but they could not build a big partnership as Williams was dismissed for 30 and Rudolph for 55.

Further down the order only Win van Vuuren managed to reach double figures, scoring 16, as Namibia crashed to 12 all out.

Kyle Nipper was KZN Inland’s top bowler, taking 4/7 in five overs.

Louis Klazinga made an early breakthrough in KZN Inland’s innings when he dismissed Tim Drummond for 3, but Mario Olivier and Brad Moses restored their innings before Sarel Burger dismissed Olivier for 22.

Klazinga dismissed Glen Addicot for 6 while Bernard Scholtz dismissed Kyle Nipper for 38.

At stumps, KZN had reached 155/4 with Brad Moses not out on 63 and Chris Barron not out on 13.
