Civics outplayed SKW from the start to register a comprehensive 3-0 victory at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday night.
Civics stunned SKW with a goal after only 20 seconds before running out comfortable 3-0 victors at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday night.
From the kickoff, Nelson Geingob found Alfred Ndyenge in space on the left, who beat SKW’s outrushing keeper Diego Fransman with an angled shot.
Civics went further ahead just after halftime through a great freekick by Bradley Werman who curled the ball around the wall and past a diving Fransman into the right hand corner of the net.
SKW hardly had a shot at goal as Civics dominated proceedings and Ashley Jossop came close when he hit the crossbar from an Eslin Kamuhanga cross.
Jossop was replaced by Pineas Jacob after 55m and he immediately made an impact with his strong runs and dribbles.
SKW’s defence managed to hold out until the final minute when Silver Zemburuka fouled Ndyenge in the penalty box and Jacob stepped up to send Fransman the wrong way from the penalty spot.
The victory saw Civics moving up four places to fifth on the log, overtaking SKW in the process. Both teams are now on 25 points but Civics has a better goal aggregate.
