Wanderers beat plucky Kudus

Wanderers recorded their second victory of the season when they beat Kudus 27-6 in an MTC Premier League rugby match at Wanderers’ home ground in Pionierspark on Saturday. Wanderers lost their opening two matches of the season against United and Western Suburbs, before scoring an important away victory against Reho Falcon. Saturday's victory against Kudus will give them hope for the future, although they were never really extended by their lightweight opponents.

SKW through to last eight

Cymot SKW eased into the last eight of the Cell One NFA Cup competition after beating Southern Stream First Division side Fedics United 4-1 on Saturday. Fedics gave some stiff opposition in the first half, but SKW took control after the break to comfortably win the match.

SKW’s young midfielder Marcelle Delie opened the scoring on 11m but Fedics soon equalised through striker Shivute Angula. Fedics had some chances to take the lead, but it was SKW who went ahead just before halftime when Edwin Korukuve beat the offside trap to score past Fedics’ outrushing keeper.
