Eight records on opening day
Submitted by editor on Fri, 07/17/2009 - 23:32.Eight records were established during the first two sessions on the opening day of the Short Course National Swimming Championships on Friday.
Christine and Jonay Briedenhann, Zanre Oberholzer, Florian Hecht and Alexander Ray, all of the Namib Swimming Academy, and Sascha Rapp and Wessel Louw of Dolphins all set new records.
Christine Briedenhann set two records in the Women’s 13-14 category. She broke the 50m butterfly record of 32,46 seconds with a new time of 30,12 and the 100m freestyle record of 1:00,93 with a new time of 1:00,75.

A total of nine games were played on Thursday, the second day of the Spes Bona Fiat Alfa Inline Hockey Tournament, with a tough Badgers squad taking five victories while the Cazadores battled their way to three wins and Kamikaze gained one.
