Rukoro’s employment contract ‘secretly’ extended
Submitted by editor on Sun, 09/19/2010 - 21:03.NFA presidential candidate Ranga Haikali on Saturday claimed that NFA president John Muinjo had ‘secretly’ extended the employment contract of secretary general Barry Rukoro by a further four years. In a press release issued to the media on Saturday, Haikali said that Rukoro himself said this during an NFA presidential debate on the live-call in programme of the NBC’s Otjiherero Language Service on Friday evening.

Namibia take control
Submitted by editor on Sun, 09/19/2010 - 19:22.Namibia’s batsmen took control of their ICC Intercontinental Shield match against Uganda on Sunday, moving to nine runs of Uganda’s total with six wickets in hand. At stumps Craig Williams was not out on 78 and Gerrie Snyman not out on 12 as Namibia reached 320/4 in reply to Uganda’s first innings total of 329 all out.
With Namibia now certain of passing Uganda’s first innings total they will also gain six crucial bonus points on a first innings lead, which will put them ahead of Uganda on the log and in a strong position to qualify for the ICC Intercontinental Shield final.
Oshana wins national championships for the physically disabled
Submitted by newsdesk on Sun, 09/19/2010 - 08:56.The Oshana region was the overall winner of the Namibia National Championships for the Physically Disabled that took place in Windhoek over the weekend.
The Khomas region was second, with the Omusati region third. The Karas region was awarded with the Best Spirit Award.
The athletes were competing in the track and field events and the competition was held in order to select athletes that would be eligible to represent the country in different international competitions next year.
