Namibia's World Champs dream up in smoke

Vincent van Biljon

Namibia’s dreams of qualifying for next year’s Inline Hockey World Championships went up in smoke when they lost their second qualifier 4-3 against South Africa on Saturday night.

The result meant that South Africa won 7-5 on aggregate after the visitors won the first match 3-2 on Friday evening.

Namibia looked to be on course to win the qualifier when they took an early 2-0 lead on Saturday evening to go 4-3 ahead on aggregate. But the South Africans staged a strong comeback, scoring three goals in five minutes to take control of the game.
