The Namibian Basketball Federation (NBF) and the Namibia School Sports Union (NSSU) conducted a very successful basketball clinic at the Windhoek Technical High School from Thursday, 29 April to Saturday, May 1.

More than 25 participants from 12 regions took part at this historic event. The representatives will now implement the mini-basketball program for children in their regions with support from the NBF and the NSSU.

MTC mulls NPL sponsorship

The country’s mobile telecommunications giant MTC has said that it is “considering” its options regarding future sponsorship of the Namibia Premier League, following the Sam Nujoma Stadium branding debacle.

General Manager for Corporate Affairs, Albertus Aochamub said “we will not stay where we are not wanted.” This was in response to the utterances of the Secretary General of the Namibian Football Association (NFA) Barry Rukoro who allegedly said that MTC was holding the sport of football to ransom.

Leo NFA Cup semis rescheduled

Saturday’s Leo NFA Cup semifinal matches have been rescheduled to take place at the Legare Stadium in Gobabis.

The matches were originally supposed to take place at the Kuisebmond Stadium in Walvis Bay, but NFA spokesman Dan Kamati said they had decided to change the venue since there were no teams from Walvis Bay left in the competition.
