SA win waterski championships

South Africa were the overall winners at the All Africa Waterskiing Championships at the Von Bach Dam over the Easter weekend, winning the team event with 6 139,45 points, while Namibia came second with 4907,74 points. South Africa’s GJ Visser was the male All Africa champion in the slalom event, while compatriot Simon Fairbank was the male All Africa champion in the tricks and jumps events.

South Africa’s Leandra Le Forestier was the female All Africa champion in the slalom and tricks events.

Khomas win Namibian Newspaper Cup

Khomas won the Namibian Newspaper Cup in stunning style as they thrashed Ohangwena 5-2 in front of about 8 000 fans on Monday. Khomas striker Sydney Urikhob was in devastating form, scoring four goals, while midfielder Sam Ipinge scored the fifth as they raced into a 5-0 lead. In the final ten minutes they slackened down a bit, allowing Ohangwena two late consolation goals by Tuhafeni Namholo and George Hangula, but by then the result was never in doubt.

Erongo beat Otjozondjupa in Loser's section final

Erongo won the Loser’s Section after beating Otjozondjupa 2-0 in the final. Goals by Paulus Job and Valton van Staden gave Erongo a deserved victory which saw them collecting the winners prize of N$4 000 while Otjozondjupa collected N$2 000 as runners-up.

Erongo did most of the attacking in the first half with right winger Wiallen Haraseb putting in some strong runs while Paulus Job tested Otjozondjupa keeper Kavetjiua Kuzatjike with an early freekick.
