Bank Windhoek on Wednesday announced a N$125 000 sponsorship for the National Athletics Championships which will be held in Windhoek on April 10, 2010.

It is the first time in four years that Namibia will stage a national championship, after the sport deteriorated under the leadership of former Athletics Namibia president Alpha Kangueehi.

Since former sprint star Frank Fredericks’ election as AN president in June 2009, the sport has once again started to attract sponsors, with Bank Windhoek now renewing their sponsorship after an absence of several years.
