Namibia in charge against SWD

Namibia were firmly in the driving seat at the end of the first day of their three-day CSA Challenge against South Western Districts at the Wanderers ground on Thursday. Namibia’s bowlers, led by Louis Klazinga and Sarel Burger put in some great performances to skittle SWD out for 110 in their first innings, and when rain brought a premature halt to proceedings, Namibia were well set for a big score at 97/1.

Dan Craven recently won his first race of the 2010 season, riding for his UK team, Rapha/Condor/Sharp. This is a great way to start the new year, after his disappointing end to the 2009 season with a broken collar bone, which prevented him from defending his African Champion title in November in Windhoek.

Uushona-Hango rematch to provide fireworks

Boxing fans will be in for a treat when the Independence Day Boxing Bonanza takes place at the Windhoek Country Club on Saturday, March 20. In the main bout, Tyson Uushona will defend his WBA Pan African welterweight title against compatriot Tommy Hango, while several other Pan African and national titles will be up for grabs.

Uushona and Hango have fought each other once before, with Uushona winning a close fight on a split decision, and according to boxing promoter Nestor Tobias fans can once again expect a great fight.
