Ramblers face toughest test
Submitted by editor on Thu, 11/11/2010 - 18:33.Log leaders Ramblers will face their toughest test yet this season when they face Black Africa at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday at 20h00 in a Namibia Premier League Round 8 encounter that is set to be a thriller.
The log leaders are still unbeaten after seven matches and will be hoping to maintain that run. Black Africa on the other hand have lost two matches and drawn once in their seven outings.
Black Africa is currently third on the log with 13 points while Ramblers is on top with 17 points.
Saintfiet denied work permit in Zimbabwe
Submitted by editor on Thu, 11/11/2010 - 16:15.Former Brave Warriors coach Tom Saintfiet’s application for a work permit in Zimbabwe was turned down on Wednesday.
According to news reports from Zimbabwe, authorities told the Zimbabwe Football Association that Saintfiet was an unsuitable work permit candidate because he had already breached section 22 (1) (a) of the Immigration Act of 1998.
Junior cricket teams selected
Submitted by newsdesk on Thu, 11/11/2010 - 11:40.Cricket Namibia has announced the names of 6 cricket teams that will participate in various cricket festivals and tournaments in South Africa and Namibia in December 2010.
Through the High Performance Program, regional visits, training camps and national trials held throughout the year the final teams were selected and finalised.
The Under 15 boys team will go to Benoni to participate at the ICC Africa Cricket Association U15 Cricket Festival from 6 to 8 December.
Ramblers Soccer Academy prizegiving
Submitted by editor on Thu, 11/11/2010 - 07:52.The season of the Ramblers Soccer Academy ended with their year-end function held on 23 October 2010. The afternoon started with a “Champion League” tournament of the youngsters between the ages of 5 and 17. Thereafter the youngsters and their parents witnessed the Premier League side’s 2-1 victory over Mighty Gunners. The evening ended with the prize-giving and a braai which was enjoyed by more than 150 children and their parents.
