Ramblers shock SKW

Ramblers gave a fighting display to shock SKW with a 3-0 victory at the SKW Stadium on Wednesday night. Eusebio Fredericks opened the scoring after three minutes while a brace in quick succession by Junior Gebhardt early in the second half completed and emphatic victory for Ramblers.

Ramblers attacked from the start and Fredericks gave them an early lead with a peach of a goal after a good build-up and cross by Dylan Mieze.

Fredericks continued to threaten up front while Bernadine Mbilizi gave an inspired performance in midfield, fighting for every ball.

Queen’s Baton to arrive

The Namibian National Olympic Committee has prepared an exciting programme to coincide with the arrival of the Queen’s Baton 2010 Delhi in Namibia on Thursday. The Queen’s Baton will arrive in Namibia from Botswana, as part of a tour that will take it through 71 Commonwealth destinations before arriving in Delhi for the start of the Commonwealth Games in October.

NNOC executive committee member Ndeulipulwa Hamutumwa said that many local festivities had been planned for the arrival of the Queen’s Baton in Namibia.

Saintfiet denies applying for Super Eagles job

Brave Warriors coach Tom Saintfiet has denied a report that he has applied to coach Nigeria’ national team, the ‘Super Eagles.’ An article on the Nigerian website www.thisdayonline.com appeared on Monday, stating that Saintfiet had sent in a letter of application to the Nigerian Football Federation for the post.

Under the headline, ‘Reasons why I should get the Eagles job, by Tom Saintfiet,’ the article states that Saintfiet lists a number of achievements with the Brave Warriors as reasons why he should be considered for the coaching job.
