Windhoek Gym v Moria
Submitted by editor on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 17:53.All roads are leading to Outjo this weekend when the FNB Rugby Classic Clashes match between Windhoek Gymnasium and Moria High School is taking place at the Outjo Sport Field on Saturday, 1st August 2009.
“This is the first year for both schools to participate in the FNB Classic Clashes programme and following the excitement of the FNB Classic Clashes since we rolled out the school’s sport development programme earlier this year, everybody at Gymnasium and Moria is excited and the hype at both schools is very high,” Cassius Moetie, FNB’s Manager for Corporate Communications said.
Namibia U20 team for African Championships
Submitted by editor on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 13:28.The Namibian Rugby Union on Wednesday announced an experienced 24-man squad to represent Namibia at the Africa U20 Championships in Kenya next week. The team, which will be captained by eighthman Royal Otto, includes five players who represented Namibia last year when they won the Africa U20 Championships in Tunisia. They are fullbacks Johannes Tromp and Russel van Wyk, scrumhalf Shipopyeni Handuukeme, prop Henk Roets and lock Andre de Klerk.
Namibian swimmers set new records in Rome
Submitted by editor on Wed, 07/29/2009 - 10:23.Namibia’s six swimmers at the World Swimming Championships in Rome, Italy have been in great form with several new national records and personal best times established so far. Although none of Namibia’s swimmers could reach the finals or even semifinals of their events, all six have so far set new personal best times.
