Boxing tops the bill

The highlight of this weekend’s sporting activities takes place at the Windhoek Country Club on Saturday evening when Paulus “The Hitman” Moses will defend his WBA lightweight title against Takehiro Shimada of Japan.
There will be several other fights on the undercard including two Pan African title fights. Tickets have been going like hotcakes but there might still be a few left at the Namibia Boxing Control Board.

The MTC Rugby Premier League continues with two crucial matches on Saturday.
The Rumble in the Namib
Submitted by editor on Thu, 07/23/2009 - 18:40.All roads lead to the Windhoek Country Club on Saturday when Namibia’s word champion Paulus “The Hitman” Moses will defend his WBA lightweight title against Takehiro Shimada of Japan.
It will be a historic event - the first time that Namibia will host a world title fight - and judging by ticket sales a full house of about 3 000 fans can be expected at the Country Club on Saturday evening.
Qualifying trampoline competition
Submitted by editor on Thu, 07/23/2009 - 13:14.Bank Windhoek has partnered with Intendo Gymnastics Club to host the second Qualifying Trampoline and Tumbling Competition, to be hosted on 25 July 2009.
This Qualifying Tournament allows the gymnasts much needed competition and aims to expose the sport to the wider public. Amongst the 47 gymnasts that will be in action this weekend are the well-known Michellé Solomons, Jivanka Kruger and Nicole Visser. These 47 gymnasts hail from four clubs.
