Jaguars trounce Namibia

Argentina’s Jaguars rugby team comprehensively beat Namibia 62-7 in a friendly rugby international at the Club Atletico San Isidro in Buenos Aires on Friday night. The Jaguars team, in effect Argentina’s A side took a 29-0 halftime lead and eventually ran in 10 tries to one to comfortably win the match.

United, Falcon draw

Reho Falcon made a fine comeback to hold United to a 26-all draw in an MTC Rugby Premier League match at United’s home ground in Olympia on Saturday. United seemed to be on course for victory when they took a 26-16 lead midway through the second half, but two tries in the final 10 minutes gave Reho Falcon a share of the spoils.

After Melrick Africa and Winmar Rust traded early penalties, Falcons’ veteran fullback Ronaldo Pedro intercepted a throw in and raced through to score under the posts. With Africa adding the conversion Falcon went 10-3 ahead.

Stars close in on SKW

African Stars closed in on leaders Cymot SKW after beating Mighty Gunners 2-0 on Saturday evening. Stars’ midfielder Ninja Karongee scored both their goals in the first half to give Stars a comfortable victory which sees them moving to within two points of SKW, with a game in hand.

Stars took an early lead when Gunners’ goalie punched away a freekick by Rudi Louw and Karongee pounced onto the loose ball to stab it into the net.
