Australia beat Namibia 5-3 in a tightly contested game at the World Inline Hockey Championships on May 31.
Australia, as home team, faced Team Namibia for the starting whistle. Oliver Lohmeier in centre, Michaell Ellinger and Riyaan Ely as wings and Basti Farber hovering behind to prawn on the puck flying back towards him. It took only 27 seconds and Faber had the puck in the net.

Montenegro admitted as 208th FIFA member

The FIFA Congress convened at the Zurich Hallenstadion today, Thursday, 31 May.
Incumbent President Joseph S. Blatter has been confirmed, by acclamation, in his position for a third term of office and Montenegro have been admitted, again by acclamation, as FIFAâ??s 208th member.

More than 120 riders participated in the Pennypinchers Auas View Annual Showjumping and Dressage Grading Tournament which took place at the Auas View Stables from May 25 to 27.
The riders came from all over Namibia, while two riders from South Africa also participated.

Namibia have dropped three places down on the FIFA World Rankings to 131st position in the world.
The rankings for May 2007 indicate that Namibia are now ranked 131st, after being ranked 128th in April.

The Namibia Football Association will launch an Under 17 Youth Development League in the Khomas Region, which is expected to commence on June 16, 2007.
According to a press release, the NFAâ??s technical department decided to launch the Under 17 League in the Khomas Region, while similar leagues in all the other regions will follow suit in the near future.

George Hummel has been dropped from the Brave Warriors squad at his own request.
Hummel was a notable absentee at this morningâ??s practise session and team manager Tim Isaacs told Namibia Sport that Hummel had requested to be dropped from the squad following his performance against Zambia last Saturday.

Namibia recorded their first victory at the World Inline Hockey Championships when they beat South Africa 8-3 on May 29.
Watched by Namibian Sport Commissioner Ben Naobeb and several other Namibian supporters, Team Namibia started off strongly and almost immediately pushed South Africa into a defending role that set the tone for the rest of the match.

The president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Jacques Rogge paid a short visit to Namibia on May 28, 2007.
On his whistle stop tour Rogge met Prime Minister Nahas Angula and President Hifikepunye Pohamba before holding a press conference at the Namibia National Olympic Committeeâ??s (NNOC) office in Windhoek. The press conference was also attended by NNOC president Agnes Tjongarero, NNOC secretary general Abner Xoagub and Namibiaâ??s IOC member, Frank Fredericks.

Namibian journalist Kayele Kambombo launched the Brave Warriors Supporters Club at the NFAâ??s Soccer House in Katutura on May 29.

Namibia suffered their second consecutive defeat at the World Inline Hockey Championships in Passau, Germany, going down 7-2 to Great Britain on May 28.
Namibia started off strongly and managed to hold an aggressive Great Britain to a goalless first quarter.
