Martins scores eight goals

Martins shone in all aspects of the game, scoring five goals from short corners as well as three spectacular solo goals.
Namibia to play the Springboks
Submitted by editor on Mon, 03/05/2007 - 21:15.Namibiaâ??s national rugby team will play South Africaâ??s Springboks in a warm-up match before leaving for France to participate in the Rugby World Cup.
The South African Sunday newspaper Rapport reported that Namibia will play the Springboks at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in the Polokwane area of Limpopo province on August 15.
Jonay Briedenhann is top swimmer
Submitted by editor on Mon, 03/05/2007 - 21:07.Jonay Briedenhann of Namibia Swimming Academy was the outstanding swimmer at the Namibia National Championships, which ended in Windhoek on March 4.
Briedenhann won the Best Individual Performance trophy for achieving the highest FINA points at the championships. She got 674 FINA points for her winning performance in the Womenâ??s Open 200m Individual Medley event.
Namibiaâ??s run comes to an end
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/04/2007 - 22:24.Namibiaâ??s progress in the SAA Cup competition came to a sudden halt when Northerns beat them by 133 runs in Windhoek on Sunday.
Had Namibia won the match they would have progressed to the semifinals in their first season in the competition, but the moment was too big and they succumbed under the pressure.
Six records at National Swimming Championships

Tristan McDonald of the Namibia Swimming Academy established one Open and two 13-14 age group records.
Reho Falcon win MTC Club Championships
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/04/2007 - 22:10.Reho Falcon won the MTC Rugby Club Championships when they beat Western Suburbs 6-3 in the final on March 3.
Both teams had try-scoring opportunities, but handling errors and poor options saw the chances going astray.
Simon wins comeback fight
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/04/2007 - 11:42.Harry Simon made a victorious comeback to the ring when he beat Stephan Ngueza of Gabon on a unanimous points decision over eight rounds after midnight on Sunday morning.
But the gutsy Ngueza can feel hard done by as he did everything but knock down Simon in a gutsy display in front of close to 1 000 fans at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
Big wins for Pirates and BA

In Keetmanshoop, Pirates thrashed Tough Guys 9-0, with Wilfred Coetzee scoring a hattrick.
Northerns crush Namibia
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/04/2007 - 11:34.Northerns beat Namibia by 290 runs in their SAA Challenge match at the Wanderers ground on Saturday.
After building up a first innings lead of 106 runs, Northerns scored 278 intheir second innings and then declared their second innings and then dismissed Namibia for only 94 runs to score a comfortable victory.
Northerns in charge against Namibia
Submitted by editor on Fri, 03/02/2007 - 19:56.Northerns were in a strong position at the end of day two of their SAA Challenge match against Namibia, with an overall lead of 295 runs and six second innings wickets remaining.
After declaring their first innings at 358/7 Northerns dismissed Namibia for 252. At stumps on Friday, Northerns had reached 189/4 for an overall lead of 295.
