The announcement was made at a press briefing on October 23 at the offices of the Namibia National Olympics Committee (NNOC).

Brave Warriors improve on FIFA rankings

The resurgent Brave Warriors continue to improve on the FIFA rankings and are slowly but surely climbing towards the top 100 ranked nations in the world.
The latest rankings released by FIFA indicates a seven place climb by the Brave Warriors, who are now ranked 101 in the world and an impressive 25th in Africa. In last monthâ??s ranking, Namibia was ranked 28th on the continent and 108 in the world.

Canada beat Namibia A

Canada beat Namibia A by six wickets in a friendly cricket match at the United field on October 23.
The Canadian team is preparing to take on Namibia in an ICC Intercontinental Cup match from October 25 to 28, and the match against Namibia A served as a warm up for Thursdayâ??s match.

Bamfuchile confident about draw

Brave Warriors coach Ben Bamfuchile has expressed satisfaction with NamibiaÅ? draw for the African Cup of Nations finals, saying they were confident of doing well.
Namibia was drawn in Pool A together with the host nation Ghana, Guinea and Morocco. They will play all their group matches in Accra, with their first encounter being against Morocco on January 21.

Brave Warriors squad for Saudi Arabia

The Namibia Football Association has announced a squad of 27 players in preparation for the Brave Warriors'next friendly match against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh on November 2.

The squad includes a few foreign-based players, although most were not released by their clubs.

MTC hand over sponsorship to Namibia Cricket Board

MTC Namibia today renewed its three-year sponsorship to the Namibia Cricket Board (NCB) for the 2007/08 cricket season at the United Cricket Grounds with a N$ 2 million donation. The sponsorship forms part of the N$ 6 million that MTC committed to cricket three years ago.
