Namibia were reduced to 10 men in the 25th minute when star striker Lazarus Kaimbi was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. Before that Kaimbi had caused havoc down the right wing with his penetrating runs and his loss was a major blow for the home team.

Namibia took an early 12-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, and went into halftime with a healthy 24-13 lead. Zambia did well to match Namibia after the break with the third quarter score being 35-24 in Namibiaâ??s favour.
