Marais wins four medals
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/12/2006 - 08:12.Monique Marais was Namibiaâ??s top performer at the South African National Age Group Level Two Swimming Championships that took place in Newcastle, Kwazulu-Natal from March 7 â?? 11, 2006.
Competing against close to 800 swimmers from 108 southern African teams, the 15-year-old swimmer won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
Viljoen 9th in Stage Four
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/12/2006 - 07:45.Arno Viljoen of Team Namibia excelled to come ninth overall at Stage Four of the Giro del Capo in Cape Town on March 11.
The 20-year-old student at Stellenbosch University completed the 5,5km hill time trial in 12 minutes 49 seconds, just 35 seconds behind the winner David George of the Nedbank Invitation team. Dan Craven of Team Namibia finished 27th, 1:17 behind George, while Mannie Heymans finished 67th, 2:11 behind George.
