Botes scores Namibia’s winner against Kenya
Submitted by editor on Tue, 06/12/2012 - 10:15.An 75th minute header by Henrico Botes gave Namibia a crucial 1-0 victory against Kenya in their World Cup qualifying match at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium on Saturday evening.
Wing back Larry Horaeb sent in a cross from the right wing and Botes met it with a header that went into the net off the bottom of the crossbar.
It was a deserved victory for Namibia who dominated most of the possession and were quite unlucky not to have scored more goals.
Naidjala retains title only just
Submitted by editor on Tue, 06/12/2012 - 10:09.Immanuel Naidjala retained his WBO Interim African Bantamweight title by the skin of his teeth on Friday night when he beat Emilio Norfat of Kenya on a split decision.
Two judges scored the fight 118-110, 119-109 to Naidjala while a third scored it 112-111 to Norfat.
The third result was much closer to the truth as it was a very close fight which could have gone either way.
Naidjala started cautiously and although Norfat was the busier boxer, Naidjala managed to land some telling punches on the counterattack.
