FNB Classic Clashes launched
Submitted by editor on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 14:04.The FNB Classic Clashes were launched for the fourth consecutive year in Windhoek on Wednesday morning.
The popular school sport competition has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 2009, from an initial seven schools to 20 schools that will battle it out in rugby, soccer and netball matches over the next four months.
Speaking at the launch, Dixon Norval, the head of FNB Marketing and Corporate Communications said that FNB was proud of the competition which had become a sought after programme with most schools wishing to become involved.
Namibia sixth at Youth Champs
Submitted by editor on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 11:15.Namibia finished a disappointing sixth out of nine nations at the Confederation of African Athletics Southern Region Youth Championships in Harare on Sunday.
South Africa dominated the championships with a total of 41 medals, consisting of 19 gold, 16 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Botswana came second with 5 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) while Zambia came third with 3 medals (2 gold, 1 bronze).
Brave Warriors in confident mood

The Brave Warriors are confident ahead of their World Cup 2014 qualifier against Nigeria in Calabar on June 3.
Ronald Ketjijere, the captain of the Namibian side said the mood in the camp was high.
“The team is in great spirits and we are really looking forward to the match against Nigeria,” Ketjijere said.
The team is currently in camp in Kaiserrau, Germany and will leave for Nigeria on Thursday.
“It is great that we are in camp as a full team as it is helping us to become more of a unit,” Ketjijere added.
