DTS Women win NVF Doc Tournament

The Namibian Volleyball Federation hosted their first indoor volleyball tournament of the year in Walvis Bay over the past weekend. With six women’s teams and ten men’s teams participating it was a big success.

The NVF Doc tournament takes place annually and is named after Doc Munz, the main supporter of the tournament and supporter of Namibian volleyball for many years.

The DTS women won their first tournament in years as they beat the defending champions, the NDF women’s team, 25-19 and 25-16.

Namibia to compete at Federations Cup

Fed Cup team

Namibia will compete in the ITF Federations Cup for the first time since 2006 when a young team competes in the Europe/Africa Zone Group III tournament in Cairo, Egypt from April 16 to 21.

Namibia will be represented by a young team consisting of 18-year-old Kerstin Gressmann, 17-year-olds Carita Moolman and Lyniques Theron and 14-year-old Sedi Jacobs.

All four players have been competing on the ITF Junior African circuit over the past year to varying degrees of success.
