Namibia’s World Cup dream is over
Submitted by editor on Sat, 03/24/2012 - 11:56.Namibia crashed out of contention for the T20 World Cup after suffering a comprehensive 9-wicket defeat against Ireland on Saturday. Ireland now join Afghanistan as the two nations to qualify for the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.
Electing to bat first, Namibia could only manage a paltry 94/6 off their 20 overs which was way too little for the Irish who reached the winning total for the loss of one wicket after only 10 overs.
Namibia won the toss and elected to bat first, but they were soon in trouble, when Raymond van Schoor was dismissed for 1 with the total on 10.
