Namibia win final T20 match but lose series

Namibia completed their home preparation for the World T20 Qualifiers when they beat Boland by 5 wickets in Windhoek on Tuesday.

Boland reached 127/5 off their 20 overs while Namibia comfortably reached the total for the loss of five wickets, with three overs to spare.

It was Namibia’s first victory in the three-match series after Boland comfortably won the first two T20 matches.

Boland batted first and got off to a good start as Michael Loubser and Keegan Petersen put on 66 runs for the first wicket at more than seven runs an over.

15-year-old Dreesbeimdieke wins Stableford Championships

Wiltrud Rugheimer, Jessica Dreesbeimdieke and Laetitia Brink

Junior golfer Jessica Dreesbeimdieke produced a great performance to win the Maerua Spar Stableford Championships on Sunday.

At the end of the 36-hole event, the 15-year-old Dreesbeimdieke was level on 61 points with Laetitia Brink and Wiltrud Rugheimer and the match had to be decided on a play-off.

Dreesbeimdieke went on to win the play-off with Brink coming second and Rugheimer third. Cornelia Alberts finished fourth.
