SWD beat Namibia by 5 wickets

Nicolaas Scholtz

A century stand between Waldo Lategan and Pieter Stuurman took South Western Districts to a five-wicket victory against Namibia in their CSA One-Day Challenge on Sunday.

Namibia seemed to be on course for an unlikely victory when they reduced SWD to 80/5 but Lategan (59 not out) and Stuurman (47 not out) steered them to victory.

Namibia won the toss and elected to bat first, but got off to a disastrous start as they lost Ewald Steenkamp for a duck, LP van der Westhuizen for 4 and Sarel Burger for 2
with only 8 runs on the board.
