Iita and Amakoto win Windhoek Marathon

Reinhold Iita gave a great performance to win the inaugural Dr Sam Nujoma Windhoek Marathon on Saturday.

Iita finished the 42km race in a time of 2 hours 30 minutes and 06 seconds in a race that took the athletes past some national monuments in Windhoek.

Iita finished ahead of Simon Shipanana who finished almost six minutes later with a time of 2:36.01 to claim second place.

In third place was Paulus Vilho who finished in 2:42.24.

Iita took the lead from the start with a group of five other athletes who included Shipanan, Vilho, Gabrial Shikonawa, Paulus Iyambo and Martin Ntinda.

NFA and NPL condemn match fixing allegations

The Namibia Football Association on Friday issued a statement condemning bribery allegations within Namibian football and calling on match officials to remain professional at all costs.

With the beautiful game of football embroiled in bribery scandals and allegations the world over, the Namibia Football Association and NPL have come out in the strongest terms to denounce allegations of match-fixing as the final two rounds of the MTC Premiership, Leo NFA Cup Final and the remaining matches of the two first division streams take centre stage.
