Namibia staged a fine comeback to nearly beat Northerns in their CSA three-day Challenge match in Pretoria on Saturday. In the end however they ran out of time as Namibia finished 22 runs short of victory as the match ended in a draw.
Northerns set the early pace and Namibia initially did not seem to have a chance of victory. Northerns’ batsmen piled on the runs in their first innings to eventually declare for 379/4 off 85 overs.
Opener Hendrik van der Dussen top scored with 155 not out, while Douglas Hewitt added 92, James Mokonyama 73 and Graeme van Buuren 60.
