Khomas Athletics to host championship event
Submitted by newsdesk on Thu, 03/31/2011 - 10:15.The annual Khomas Region Track and Field Championship will take place at the Independence Stadium on Saturday.
Following the success of the Rossing Club Championship at Swakopmund and the just ended Coca Cola National Junior Athletics Championships in Windhoek, Khomas Athletics Region hope to add more competitions for clubs in the region.
First division reaches halfway mark
Submitted by newsdesk on Thu, 03/31/2011 - 09:45.After the conclusion of the first half of the First Division, Hotspurs and United Stars are leading the Southern and Northern Streams respectively.
With 11 matches completed in the Southern Stream, a mere four points separates the top five teams in that league.
Hotspurs are only one point in front of second placed Tura Magic who have 24 points. Monitronics College are third with 22 points, the same number as fourth placed Spoilers.
Desert Rollers are also in with a chance with 21 points after they won seven and lost four of their matches.
SKW, Civics draw
Submitted by editor on Wed, 03/30/2011 - 22:29.SKW and Civics drew 0-0 in an uneventful Premier League match on Wednesday night.
Chances were few and far between as the teams weighed up evenly from the start.
Jeremia Baisako and Gustav Isaack created some chances for SKW, with Alfred Ndyenge having a long range effort saved, while Milton Chapo shot narrowly over the bar.
At the other end, Heini Isaacks and Lucky Maselesele had shots saved, while another Maselesele shot was headed off the line by Chepela Chepela.
Top Score joins forces with Global United

Three changes to Welwitschias
Submitted by editor on Wed, 03/30/2011 - 17:04.Namibia’s rugby selectors have made three changes to the Welwitchias’ starting lineup for Saturday’s match against Border at the Hage Geingob National Rugby Stadium in Windhoek.
United centre David Philander returns to the team after a long absence due to injury, while Rehoboth flanker Husceit Visagie is called up to the side for the first time this season.
Morne Blom returns to lock, after playing at flank for most of the Vodacom campaign.
There is one more addition to the substitutes bench with Western Suburbs fullback TC Losper being recalled after a long injury absence.
