Bank Windhoek sponsors Enduro Series

Bank Windhoek Enduro Series

Bank Windhoek on Monday announced its support to the Namibia Enduro Club for the second consecutive year with a sponsorship of N$60 000 which will enable the Namibia Enduro Club to host the Namibian Enduro Championship series with eight races scheduled for 2011.

Craven wins King of the Mountains

Namibian cyclist Dan Craven won the King of the Mountains category on the first stage of the Cell C Tour of South Africa in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Craven, riding for his Rapha Condor Sharp team, won the King of the Mountains with eight points, followed by Daryl Impey of the South African MTN team on six and Nathnael Berhane of Eritrea on five points.

Namibian athletes get mixed results at Yellow Pages

Tjipekapora Herunga, Hitjevirue Kaanjuka and Roger Haitengi all came second in their respective events at the first meet of the Yellow Pages Athletics Series, which was held over the weekend in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

Herunga clocked 54.73 seconds to finish second in the 400m final behind Wenda Theron from South Africa who won with a time of 54.21.

She was well off her personal best and Namibian record time of 52.46.

First Divisions get underway

With four rounds of matches having been concluded in the Northern and Southern Stream Football First Divisions over the past weekend, mobile telecommunications giant, MTC which sponsors these lower leagues through the Namibia Premier League (NPL), says it is relieved that the ball has finally started to roll after months of delay due to funding issues.
