St Pauls College beat St Josephs 3-0 in their FNB Classic Clashes match on Saturday to record their third successive victory since the competition’s inception in 2008.
Playing on their home field in Klain Windhoek, St Pauls made their intentions clear from the start as captain Garren Smith put them ahead after five minutes. Two more goals by Ayanda Katjitae and Kleopas Imalwa put them 3-0 ahead at halftime, and although St Josephs dominated possession in the second half, they could not break through as St Pauls held on for a comfortable win.
Jan Jonker Afrikaner Secondary School maintained their supremacy over Immanuel Shifidi Secondary School with a 3-1 victory in their FNB Classic Clashes soccer match on Friday. Shifidi took an early lead through midfielder Collin Chimu, but Jan Jonker surged forward and soon equalised through Prins So-oabeb.
Shifidi had numerous goalscoring chances in the second half, but failed to convert them, while Jan Jonker made full use of the chances that came their way. Second half goals by Peter Shalulile and Rabiano Blockstaan gave them a comfortable 3-1 victory in the end.
