Ambunda to defend African WBO bantamweight title
Submitted by editor on Wed, 07/21/2010 - 14:39.Paulus “The Rock” Ambunda will defend his WBO Africa bantamweight title on Saturday 24 July against South African Klaas Mboyane at the Windhoek Country Club.
This will be Ambunda’s second title defence since he won the title against Lwazi Mzolozi in a second round technical knockout in Windhoek on October 31, 2009. In his first title defence, he beat South African, Tendani Munyai on a third round TKO in April 2010, while he beat another South African, Sipho Nkadimeng on points over eight rounds in a non title defence on May 29.
NFA Congress in October

The Namibia Football Association will hold their elective Congress in October, following decisions taken at the NFA Executive Committee meeting that took place on the side of the Football Administration and Management seminar held over the weekend.
The Course held at the Midgard Country Estate introduced participants to the latest development programmes of the Association and how to deal with Finances and also covered issues of marketing, events management and competitions.
Cricket Namibia announces Under 19 squad
Submitted by newsdesk on Wed, 07/21/2010 - 08:31.Cricket Namibia has announced a team that will represent the country when they host the ICC Africa Under 19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier from 29 August to 5 September in Windhoek.
Eight countries will participate in the tournament where the top two nations will qualify to play for the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier in 2011.
Cricket Namibia Chief Executive Officer, Laurie Pieters, was very excited about the impact of hosting of the qualifiers would have on cricket development in the country.
