The Namibia Football Association has been shortlisted for the prestigious Beyond Sport Awards 2010 in the Federation/Governing Body of the Year category for its Galz and Goals program that is funded by UNICEF.

According to Barry Rukoro, Secretary General of the NFA, the gesture is highly appreciated by the Association as it bears recognition of its efforts in taking the people’s game to the people.

The Brave Gladiators will be travelling without four key players when they leave on Wednesday for the return leg of their African Women’s Championship qualifiers against Equatorial Guinea in Malabo on Saturday June 5.

Kleintjie Fredericks, Bianca Fredericks and Charmaine Swartbooi have all been suspended from the team after failing to return to camp after they played their first leg match against Equatorial Guinea in Windhoek on May 23.

Brave Gladiators coach Jacqui Shipanga said, “we will not allow them to hold the team hostage, we will not stand for that.”
