Metropolitan Namibia recently announced a sponsorship of N$23 000 to the Kiddies Sport programme which will enable 28 learners from A I Steenkamp Primary School to receive free coaching once a week during 2010.

It is the sixth consecutive year that Metropolitan has sponsored the program, which is run by Amanda van Wyk, which teaches children basic coordination and sport skills, while also helping them develop self discipline and responsibility.

The annual Pointbreak Open Water swim will be taking place this Sunday, 7 March, at Oanob at 9.30am. Competitors can choose between a 2.1km, the longest open water swim in Namibia, or a 700m swim. Event organisers, Otb Sport, expect well over 100 participants, as more than 90 swimmers have already entered. That would make it Namibia's biggest open water swim.
