SKW hold Pirates to a draw

Ralph Ellinger

Orlando Pirates squandered a chance to go to the top of the log when they were held to a 1-all draw by SKW at the SKW field on Thursday night. The home side took the lead through a great solo effort by Edwin Korukuve on 19m, but Pirates drew level when Johannes Seibeb scored from the penalty spot on 54m.

Pirates had numerous scoring chances in the final stages but they could not break through SKW’s defence, where captain Ralph Ellinger had a fine game.

Simon’s comeback switched to Nairobi

Harry Simon

Namibia’s former world boxing champion Harry Simon will now make his comeback in Nairobi, Kenya on Saturday, after the British Boxing Board of Control refused to approve Simon’s scheduled comeback bout in London against Jevgenijs Kiselevs of Latvia.

Simon’s Namibian promoter Kiriata Kamanya of Salute Trading CC issued a statement on Thursday saying that Simon would now fight Douglas Otieno of Kenya at the Sun City Cinema in Nairobi on Saturday evening.
