Bassingthwaighte wins Nedbank Cycle Challenge

Marc Bassingthwaighte of Team Garmin Adidas was a comfortable winner of the Nedbank Cycle Challenge on Sunday, finishing more than a minute ahead of team mate Mannie Heymans.
Bassingthwaighte, the current African mountainbike champion, won the Elite Men’s category in a time of 1 hour 48 minutes 37 seconds to set a new record for the 75km event, breaking the previous record set by Dan Craven in 2008 by 18 seconds.
