NFA Executive Member Dawid Goagoseb has called on participants at the Referee Refresher Course underway at Soccer house to learn as much as they can.
Speaking at the opening of the course on Monday at Soccer House Goagoseb who is also chairperson of the Khomas Football Region called on the 27 participants to fully participate in all activities expected of them during the week-long course as that will ensure that the game of football becomes better.
The draw for the Metropolitan Under 20 Cosafa championship took place in Gaborone, Botswana on Friday with Namibia being drawn in the same group as South Africa and Lesotho in Group B.
This will be the first time the championship will take place outside South Africa in its history and will run from 3 to 12 December in Gaborone.
This year the team will hope to do well after last year’s dismal performance that saw them losing 9-0 to South Africa and 4-2 to Seychelles in the group stages of the tournament in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Brave Warriors midfielder and defender, Oliver Risser will next year play in the UEFA Europa League after his club, Kuopion Palloseura (Kups) finished second in the Finnish Veikkausliiga.
Kups finished the season with 48 points after 26 matches and were second to HJK, who had 52 points after the same number of matches. HJK will next year take part in the UEFA Champions League.
Risser moved to Kups after his former club Lyn Oslo declared bankruptcy and he was left without a team.
The Enduro Working Group of the Windhoek Motor Club is staging the final of seven Motorcycle Enduro racing events for 2010 on 30 October. The ‘Hemco Paint Enduro’ will take place at the Abbabis Farm of the Gladis family in the Karibib district. This event will be the final one in the Bank Windhoek National Enduro Championship for this year and will start at 07:00. The prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for 19:30 at the same venue.

The moto-x event this weekend in Olympia exceeded all expectations. More than 1 000 spectators came to the WMCC grounds and at least the same number of people stood outside the premises and lined the fence. The Windhoek Moto Cross Club recorded 88 entries in the races – a new record.
