Top order batsmen capitulate

Elton Ambambi

Namibia’s bowlers did well to dismiss Eastern Province for 264, but their top order batsmen once again capitulated as Namibia reached 49/3 at stumps on the first day of their three-day CSA Challenge match in Port Elizabeth.

Both Raymond van Schoor and Gerhard Rudolph were dismissed for 3 runs apiece and just before stumps Namibia suffered another setback when Norbert Manyande was dismissed for 22. The not out batsmen were opener Willem Groenewald on 9 and Craig Williams who still had to open his account.

The Cycling camp hosted in Omaruru over the past weekend has been labelled as a huge success, as 25 riders from Windhoek, Walvisbay, Omaruru and even Durban - South Africa partook in the activities over three days.

21 young cyclists convened on the small town of Omaruru, where they were joined by four local riders and were put through their paces by professional Namibian cyclist Dan Craven and personal trainers from the ‘Fx Fitness Studio’. Participants were pushed to their limits as the tough routines took their toll on some of the riders.
