African Stars took a three-point lead at the top of the Namibia Premier League after their closest rivals stumbled to defeats over the weekend. Stars and Orlando Pirates were level on points at the top of the log before the weekend’s play, but Pirates stumbled to a 2-1 defeat to Tigers on Sunday, while Stars beat United Stars 2-0 on Saturday evening. With Black Africa also losing 2-0 to Civics, Tigers moved into third position on the log.

Stars moved up to 27 points after beating United Stars 2-0 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday evening.
