Namibia takes on South Africa’s national women’s side, Banyana Banyana in a friendly soccer match at the Khomasdal Stadium on Saturday.
South Africa requested the match and will be sending their full strength side in preparation for the African Women’s Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea later this year.

According to Jacky Gertze of the NFA’s Women’s Desk, Namibia’s Brave Gladiators will largely consist of Under 20 players, to help prepare them for the SADC Zone 6 Youth Games which take place in Potchefstroom, South Africa in December.

Botes called up for Brave Warriors

Henrico Botes

Henrico Botes has been recalled to the Brave Warriors squad for their final World Cup qualifying match against Zimbabwe in Windhoek on October 11.
The former Brave Warriors captain last played for Namibia against Ethiopia in October 2006 when he spat at a player and was subsequently banned for six matches by the Confederation of African Football. Since then Botes also suffered a serious knee injury and didn’t feature much for his club Platinum Stars in South Africa’s Premier Soccer league last season.
