Namibia reach 280/9 against Bermuda
Submitted by admin on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 22:23.Namibia reached a total of 280 for nine wickets at the end of the first days play of their ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Bermuda in Hamilton on Wednesday.
Sarel Burger, who top scored for Namibia with a patient 71 off 225 balls and Louis Klazinga on 8 were still at the crease when play was stopped after 97 overs at the National Stadium in Hamilton.
Swakopmund Dillinger Cup
Submitted by admin on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 21:25.The annual Swakopmund Dillinger Cup Interclub Gala was held on August 23 at the Swakopmund Municipality Swimming Pool.
All swimming clubs from Namibia, i.e. Dolphins, NSA, Sand Sharks (Oranjemund), Swakopmund Swimming Club and Marlins participated in this special event. The standard of the gala was very high with fierce competition and some excellent times were achieved. Ultimately, the Swakopmund Dillinger Cup was won by Dolphins Swimming Club with a total of 690 points. The event was sponsored by Prowealth and Nashua.

Submitted by admin on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 19:05.Namibia’s FIFA world ranking improved by three places to 121 according to the latest rankings published on FIFA’s website today.
During the period under review Namibia participated in the Cosafa Cup competition in South Africa where they reached the final before losing 1-0 to a developmental side from South Africa. En route to the final, Namibia beat the Comores Islands 3-0, Malawi 1-0 and drew 1-all to Lesotho.
Namibia is ranked sixth in the SADC region and 35th in Africa.

Kenya ready for Warriors
Submitted by admin on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 15:37.Kenya’s Harambee Stars take on Namibia’s Brave Warriors in a 2010 World Cup and African Cup of Nations qualifier this Saturday.
In their first meeting in May this year in Windhoek, the Namibians beat their Kenyan counterparts 2-1 with Namibia’s goals coming via Wilko Risser and Costa Khaiseb. The two strikers have once again been named in the 18-man strong squad by Warriors coach Tom Saintfiet.
