Civics assemble strong squad

Having narrowly lost out on the Namibia Premier League title to Orlando Pirates last season, three-time league champions Civics are hoping to bounce back in style to claim an unprecedented fourth league title in the coming season.
Civics have made several new signings while also releasing several players and according to team manager Paul Stramis they are now ready to make a serious challenge for the 2008/09 league title.

Five rhythmic gymnasts from Walvis Bay recently excelled at a rhythmic gymnastics competition in Klerksdorp, South Africa on September 5 and 6.

In the Levels Age Group categories, Asnee Miller, Maria Gawises and Monique Theron all won overall medals.
Gawises won the overall gold medal in the Level 4 U11 category with an average of 8,66 points, while she also scored the highest point of over 30 in her category.
Theron won the overall gold medal in the Level 8 U15 category, while Miller won the overall bronze medal in the Level 4 U9 category with an average of 8,37 points.

Craven second in Italy

Namibian cyclist Dan Craven came second in the 136km Trofeo Salvatore Morucci race which took place just north of Rome last Sunday.
It was Craven’s sixth top five finish in his past ten races and came against some strong competition which included several cyclists of Russia’s national team and other professional cyclists from Italy.
