FC AK lose to United

FC AK squandered the opportunity of gaining automatic promotion to the top-flight of South African football after going down to Maritzburg United 2-0 at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday in the National First Division promotion play-offs finals. The two sides had earlier played to a one-all draw in first leg played at Eldorado Stadium with Namibian international Costa Khaiseb scoring for AK.

Black Africa go third

Black Africa moved up to third position on the log after a thrilling 3-2 victory against Eleven Arrows on Sunday.
In other matches on Sunday, log leaders Orlando Pirates were held to a goalless draw by Blue Waters, Tigers and Fedics played to a 3-all draw and Oshakati City and Mighty Gunners played to a 1-all draw.

Reho Falcon beat United 33-31

Reho Falcon came from behind to beat United 33-31 in a thrilling rugby Premier League match at Unitedâ??s home ground in Olympia on Saturday afternoon.
United seemed to be heading for victory when they took a 31-19 lead halfway through the second half. But Reho Falconâ??s flyhalf Melrick Africa scored two great tries in quick succession as Reho snatched victory with five minutes remaining.

Civics win MTC NFA Cup final

An outstanding goal by Floris Diergaardt gave Civics victory against African Stars in the MTC NFA Cup final on Saturday.
Diergaardt struck a great freekick on 70 minutes, slamming a cracking shot past Starsâ?? keeper Max Mbaeva into the near corner of the net.

Civics won the MTC NFA Cup after a great freekick by their captain Floris Diergaardt in the 70th minute.
In an otherwise dull and typically hard fought final, Diergaardt's flash of brilliance seperated the evenly balanced teams.

Snewe not surprised by Schans resignation

Mighty Gunners coach Dawid Snewe says the writing was on the wall for Brave Warriors coach Arie Schans, who resigned with immediate effect on Wednesday. Schans decided to jump first after returning from the ill-fated 2010 World Cup and African Cup of Nations qualifier match in Conakry where the Brave Warriors lost 4-0 to Guinea. The Syli National had earlier beaten the Warriors 2-1 at home.

Samaria once again beats Olympic qualifying time

Agnes Samaria came second in the womenâ??s 1 500m at an athletics meeting in Jerez, Spain on Tuesday in an excellent time of 4:05,67.
Her time was once again below the Olympic qualifying time of 4:07,00 and it is now the second time within the past ten days that she has gone under the Olympic qualifying time.

Schans resigns as Brave Warriors coach

Arie Schans announced his resignation as Brave Warriors coach on Wednesday afternoon.

Schans informed Namibia Sport telephonically that he had decided to resign after being summoned to a meeting by the Namibia Football Association president John Muinjo.

FC AK, Maritzburg draw first leg

Maritzburg United and FC AK drew 1-all in the first leg of the South African National First Division play-off final at FC AKâ??s Eldorado Park in Johanneburg on Wednesday afternoon.

Namibian striker Costa Khaiseb gave FC AK the lead on 32 minutes, before Fadlu Davids equalised for Maritzburg United on 58 minutes.
