Ali to fight for Pan African welterweight title

Ali Nuumbembe will challenge South Africaâ??s Welcome Ntshingila for the WBA Pan African welterweight title, while Paulus The Hitman Moses will fight an as yet unknown opponent in Japan next month.

Premier League action resumes

Premier League pace setters Ramblers and Cymot SKW will hope to extend their lead on the chasing pack when they take on relegation strugglers APS Blue Waters and Fedics United respectively at home this weekend.

Namibia start as favourites against Scotland

Namibia go into Fridayâ??s ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Scotland with confidence, knowing that victory will earn them a place in the ICC Intercontinental Cup final.

Namibia comfortably beat Holland by seven wickets last weekend to go top of the log on 68 points, two ahead of Kenya, while Ireland are third on 49.

SKW win Doc Tournament

SKWâ??s menâ??s volleyball team defended their title at the Doc Tournament in Walvis Bay last weekend. SKW dominated against NDF A in the final, beating them 3:0 in fine style to lift the menâ??s trophy for the second year in a row. Khomas Nampol beat DTS to win the ladies competition.

Successful wrestling tournament

The After School Center Wrestling club hosted a very successful wrestling tournament last weekend with four clubs participating in Freestyle and Greco Roman events.

The tournament also served as trials for the Greco-Roman championships that will be held in South Africa during May. The Namibian team that will participate in South Africa will be announced at a later stage.

Countdown to Olympics gains momentum

The countdown to the Beijing Olympic Games gathered momentum on Wednesday when members of the Chinese embassy in Namibia gave an impressive presentation on Chinaâ??s preparations to a selected audience in Windhoek.

Stars wont underestimate Hotspurs

Defending MTC NFA Cup champions African Stars have vowed not to underestimate first division outfit Hotspurs when the sides meet in the quarterfinals on April 26.

The quarterfinal draw, which was made at the NFAâ??s Soccer House in Windhoek on Wednesday, provided some fascinating match-ups. The matches will take place in Mariental with Black Africa facing Cymot SKW and Stars taking on Hotspurs on Saturday, April 26, while Tigers take on Ramblers and Civics face Fedics United on April 27.
