The Namibia Premier League will finally start on November 7, after MTC announced that it had contributed an extra N$600 000 for the new season.
At a press conference at the NFA’s Soccer house on Thursday, the NPL’s media officer Meke Namindo said that the league, which was supposed to start on September 12, had been delayed since there was a “need for the readjustment of the sponsorship allocation.”
“We’d like to apologise for the delay, but for us to produce good player and a good professional league, we need good funding,” she said.
