Namibian rugby player Roger Thompson has been banned for two years by the International Rugby Board, following a positive doping offence.
The IRB issued a statement on September 3, saying that Thompson had been tested positive for an anabolic steroid after a random doping test on December 18, 2006.
Nandis XI caused a major upset in the Khomas Under 17 Youth League at the weekend, beating stream A log leaders, the Collin Benjamin Soccer Academy CBSA) 1-0 on Friday and second-placed S.Bala 3-1 the following day. Nandis remain third on the log standings with 32 points.

Erwin Handura, the local project manager of The Next Step Conference said all is on track as Namibia prepares to host one of the worldâ??s biggest sport seminars.
Handura updated the media on Tuesday about the conference that is scheduled for September 19-22 in Windhoek. The seminar is expected to draw close to 300 delegates from the international sport and development community. Handura said there had been enormous interest from the participants.

AT 35 degrees Celsius and under a heavy dust cloud the eighth Motocross Championship meeting of the season was held at Gobabis. Dust was the main reason for some hefty crashes that occurred in most categories during the day.
