Arrows upset Stars

Eleven Arrows caused the first upset of the season when they beat African Stars 2-0 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Arrows were full value for their win, attacking with vigour and creativity, while Stars looked out of sorts and, like last season, once again lacking in firepower.

Civics win U17 Youth League title

Civics I won the inaugural Khomas Under 17 League title when they beat Collin Benjamin Soccer Academy 2-1 on Saturday morning.
In a match of fine technical skills on both sides, Civics dominated the first half, to take a 2-0 lead at the break.

Pirates beat BA amidst crowd violence

Orlando Pirates beat Black Africa 2-1 in a typically fiery derby match in front of about 5 000 fans at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday night.
The new-look Pirates side deserved their victory as they did most of the attacking and created more chances, with new signings Riaan Cloete and Rudi Louw in the thick of things.

Brave Warriors shoot up rankings

Following their famous 3-2 victory against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa on September 8, the Brave Warriors have improved on the Coca-Cola FIFA rankings and are now ranked 28th in Africa and 108th in the world.

Conradie apologises for ticket fiasco

The president of the Namibia Rugby Union, Dirk Conradie has issued an apology to the Namibian nation following the recent Rugby World Cup ticket sales debacle.
This follows a recent appeal by Prime Minister Nahas Angula that Conradie publicly apologise to the nation.

Katutura derby opens new season

The 2007/08 Namibia Premier League season finally gets underway with the Katutura derby between Black Africa and Orlando Pirates at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday night.
Both teams have undergone changes after disappointing performances last season and especially Pirates seem to have assembled a formidable squad.

South Africa dominate AST Bowls tournament

South Africa dominated the Bowls African States Tournament, that finished in Windhoek on Thursday, September 27.
South Africa won both the men and womenâ??s overall titles as well as several other gold medals in the various categories.

Soccer great John Barnes, who played for English giants Liverpool in the 1990s, has finally arrived in Namibia as per invitation of Helmu Communications, who will be launching their Personality of the Year award this Saturday.

Georgia too strong for Namibia

Namibia lost their final match at the Rugby World Cup 30-0 to Georgia on Wednesday night, after trailing 16-0 at halftime.
In a hard, physical battle, Georgia gained the upper hand amongst the forwards, gradually wearing down Namibia with their driving mauls.

History beckons for Georgia and Namibia

Georgia and Namibia go into their Pool D match on Wednesday with the chance to make history for their respective nations.
Neither has won a rugby world cup match in the past and the coaches of both sides have been targeting this fixture as their best chance.
